The Animal Control Officer performs a variety of duties associated with the capture, care, well-being and protection of domesticated and wild animals, patrols the city, responds to complaints/inquiries and provides animal care awareness and information material.

The Purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to engage qualified architects and/or architectural firms to assist the City of Carrizo Springs in the development and improvements of Veterans Park. Veterans Park is located at 405 E. Alamo St., Carrizo Springs, TX 78834.

Mission:
The City Clerk serves as an officer for the City. This position provides personnel and administrative support for the City operations. The position is responsible for setting up City elections, posting public meetings, agendas, minutes and all time-sensitive city postings and publishing. The City Clerk is also the custodian of records and is responsible for processing open records requests, codification of ordinances and resolutions.

The Finance Department maintains monthly financial reports for the City Manager, City Council and City departments. They provide a variety of services to the city operation including accounts payable and receivables, payroll (1099s and W-2s), monthly bank reconciliations and investment reports, management of debt service and fixed assets and preparation of the annual budget, audit and certified annual financial report.

As 4th of July approaches the City of Carrizo Springs would like to remind residents that fireworks are not allowed in the city limits.

The Hospital and Nursing Home areas are quiet zones and there will be extra patrol in those areas to enforce the unlawful use of fireworks.

Any person found violating the provisions of Ordinance No. 506 may be fined up to $200 and the fire marshal or peace officer is authorized to seize any remaining fireworks and destroy them.

Natural gas has no odor when it comes from the ground, so the gas company adds odor before it is delivered to your home. If you should smell gas, please call the City of Carrizo Springs at 830.876.2476 between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm; weekends and holiday call the Sheriff's Department at 830.876.3508. as soon as your call has been received a City of Carrizo Springs Gas Utility employee will be dispatched to locate the problem. Remember, the odor in natural gas is a safety measure.

The City of Carrizo Springs Municipal Landfill operates and complies with all the requirements made by the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality. Landfills are solid waste disposal facilities that are permitted by the TCEQ. Only split, quartered or shredded tires may be disposed of in a landfill. Any permitted municipal solid waste landfill site may store or process whole tires or tire pieces. Storage or processing activities must be specified in a landfill's permit, and scrap tire management registration is required.

Property Tax Rates in City of Carrizo Springs
This notice concerns the 2020 property tax rates for City of Carrizo Springs. This notice provides information about two tax rates. The no-new-revenue tax
rate would impose the same amount of taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both years. The voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate a
taxing unit can adopt without holding an election. In each case, these rates are calculated by dividing the total amount of taxes by the current taxable value

Dimmit County recently reported the fourth active case of COVID-19, the disease caused by the Coronavirus, in the County.  It has been deemed that these cases are associated with community spread of the virus.  Due to the increases in community spread throughout the United States, all individuals are at some risk of exposure to COVID-19.   As a result, in the uptick of cases in our community, the City of Carrizo Springs leaders believe there is far greater health risk than reward in having the Annual 4th of July parade, and as a result the parade has been canceled.

The City of Carrizo Springs is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Service Worker

Essential Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

The existing wastewater treatment plant was constructed in 1978 which is 48 years old. The concrete walls show cracks in several sections of the structure and most of the equipment is not functioning as intended and no longer reliable. The plant operators are experiencing difficulty operating and maintaining the plant in its present condition.

The City of Carrizo Springs water department is responsible for the management and maintenance of Carrizo Springs drinking water resources and the distribution system utilized to provide this resource to residents and businesses throughout the town.

The Carrizo Springs water department mission is to protect the water resource of the town, treat the water to ensure that is safe and clean, and upgrade and maintain the distribution system, and provided essential fire protection.

The City of Carrizo Springs would like to maintain the community informed regarding the water situation with which we are experiencing.

City crews, with the support of private entities, and the City of Crystal City are in the process of repairing a 20 inches transmission line that broke located about 4 miles outside of the city limits. This transmission line is the main source of water for the city.
