Gas Utility Worker

Gas Utility Worker – 

The City of Carrizo Springs is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Gas Utility Worker to assist with maintenance and operations of the City’s gas distribution system under the supervision of the Department Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to gas leak calls, perform leak detection, and complete repairs

Install, maintain, and replace gas lines and meters

Operate equipment such as backhoes and hand tools

Test gas systems for proper pressure and safe operation

Assist customers with gas appliance connections and safety guidance

Complete work orders, reports, and related documentation

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Minimum of two (2) years of gas, pipeline, construction, or related experience preferred

Ability to operate equipment and work in various outdoor conditions

Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Additional Requirements:

Must be available for on-call duty and respond promptly

Must obtain required Texas Gas Association certifications within two (2) years

Ability to lift up to 80 pounds
